Heh, it's aight! I'm jus' surprised I ain't been suddenly zipped over more often by others. [He shifts his bag of groceries to set them down for now.] Yup, Mana took... uh... almost all my coins, an' gave me six pins in return. The first time you use it, you get me! [He poses playfully.] If you use it a second time in a day, you get a ... well, a Noise version of me. It'll be dumb an' not do anythin' on it's own butchu can order it around an' fer ten mins it'll do whatever you want. Then it takes a day to recharge an' you can do it all over again!
Noise...? Like those creatures you showed me at the museum?
[Dumb... but capable of being ordered around. It certainly sounds more agreeable than what she'd gathered from his previous descriptions of the creatures, at least.]
Heh nah, unless you order it to attack or protect or somethin'. It'll jus' stand around unless given orders. I ain't sure 'zactly how smart it can follow orders. If you wanna try it, we can give it a shot?
[Beat's never actually seen it himself, he only knows what will happen because Mana explained it, so he's sort of interested.]
[Though she seems a bit uncertain, she is curious, and Beat's nonchalance is encouraging. With a small smile, she gives him a nod.]
Very well. Hmm, let's see now... [Enclosing the pin in her hand, she tries to do what she did before: focus her thoughts on Beat (a simple task, with him standing right beside her).]
[Beat is completely un-phased, though the feeling is odd. There's the tug, like if he was being summoned, but it's light. What manifests beside Lusamine this time is a Noise indeed. An anthropomorphic blonde squirrel, fur fluffy but more styalized, with its tail, claws, and ears replaced with large vibrant noise shapes of them.
It simply stands there, it's squirrely face fixed on Lusamine, head tilted lightly to the side. It mimics Beat's behavior, as if it's waiting for an instruction.
[But also Beat, of course. She reaches a cautious hand out toward it, brushing her fingers experimentally over one of its bright ears. When that doesn't immediately result in it leaping up to bite her, she smiles.]
Ah... I've brought it here, but I don't have any chores for it to do at the moment... Poor thing.
[She thinks for a moment, glancing around the room... and then, seeming to have made a decision of some sort, takes a few steps back, away from the Noise Beat. Once there, she opens her arms, beckoning to it.]
Heh, I think you can dismiss it, otherwise it'll jus' kinda hang 'round like a glow-lamp.
[He watches as she walks away and then opens her arms and ... asks for a hug. He laughs, but also feels?? jealous?? of himself?? The Noise obeys and moves forward smoothly, claws making no sound but sort of shimmering on the carpet. And it... well, gives Lusamine kind of a hug? Mostly though, because she asked to hold it, it comes near and bends down so she can in turn wrap her arms around it.
It's kinda dumb.
Beat's kinda jealous, but also a little interested.]
Huh. I wonder how sp... spacific, you 'gotta get wid it? Hey, yo. M...me? Wiggle yer ears?
[It ignores him, he's not the one that summoned it. Beat looks offended because that's him hello.]
[Lusamine seems pleased nonetheless, wrapping her arms around the Noise and cooing her approval.] Very good. How clever you are!
[Beat's futile attempt at commanding the creature himself makes her giggle.]
I suppose he will only do what I ask of him, as I'm the one who called him here, hm? [Releasing the Noise, she echoes Beat's demand,] Wiggle your ears for me now, won't you?
[When the Noise obeys, Lusamine laughs and pats its head.] Yes, just like that. Well done!
[With that, she turns to face the real Beat, then steps forward to draw him into an embrace (she must have noticed his moment of jealousy toward the Noise, because of course she would).]
You're always doing your best to look out for me, aren't you? Thank you, my darling... This was such a wonderful surprise. I'll be sure to put it to good use.
[Oh there we go. Beaming, Beat happily tucks himself into the hug, soaking up the love and attention. And over her shoulder he will stick his tongue out at his Noise form, which remains where it had been called.]
Hopefully you ain't ever gotta call me fer anythin' but tea, yo. You ain't ever gonna be alone in any situation if I can help it.
