*** Aether has joined 018.07.154.55 <Aether> Hello. You have reached Lusamine Mendel. <Aether> Please leave a message, and I will get back to you shortly.
The reality of this situation dawned on her slowly, in disjointed pieces, leaving her momentarily speechless. This man truly did know her—not as the faerie rising in Bavanite prominence, but as president of the Aether Foundation, the identity she had wished so desperately to leave behind.
Intellectually, she of course knew that if she had been brought into Ryslig, so too could others from the same world, but the past several months had made it easy for her to forget. Suddenly, she felt a bit faint, an instinctual dread quickly taking root within her. Briefly, she considered killing him, trapping him in one of her faerie rings and draining him of his energy until he could no longer remind her again of who she once was.
Ultimately, it was his question that caused her to stay her hand. In her complete bewilderment, she found herself laughing.
"Why... I live here. Just down the hall..."
Though she was certainly not happy to see him, this Emmet seemed quite happy to see her. Realizing then his harmlessness, she managed to govern herself and speak with one of her winning, presidential smiles.
"Mr... Emmet, was it? Oh, I do hope you can forgive me for my rudeness... I was only—so very surprised! You are the first I've met in this world who has been able to recognize me for my past work, you see... And to recognize Pokémon, for that matter."
Speaking of which, as if on cue, her Bewear came toward him once more, sniffing at him curiously. As she did, Lusamine observed, inwardly puzzling over the man's identity.
He nodded, "I am, I am a Subway Boss for the Nimbasa Gear Station." He said this proudly, unaware of Lusamine's inner turmoil. "But I do not have any Pokemon with me. I live on the 8th floor myself."
He shook his head, "No worries, I would be surprised too. Lots of people don't seem to know about Pokemon here."
Finally, there was a flicker of recognition. "The battling facility?"
Lusamine had never participated in the Battle Subway, of course, not being much of a trainer herself, but she had taken many a trip to Nimbasa, and even a brief visit to the city was enough to familiarize anyone with the building, at least.
"I see... That certainly is a shame. My Petunia was only returned to me when I asked it of the witch, Ms. Mana... How... long have you been in this world, Mr. Emmet?"
"Correct!" He said with pride on his face. "I arrived just this month in the mall." he seemed to be regaining energy just by talking about home. His smile was getting wider. "And a witch can bring Pokemon here?" he questioned, his eyes going wide. Maybe he could ask for a Pokemon friend too, maybe one of his own from home.
"Just this month..." That might begin to explain that haunted look she'd glimpsed on his face. Having now recovered from her own initial shock, she was quick to gush with sympathy, "Oh, you poor dear, all of this must have been quite a shock for you... I know that I was truly terrified when I first awoke here without my babies—my own precious Pokémon..."
However, he did seem to be growing more enthusiastic the longer they spoke. It was almost endearing.
"Ah—indeed she can, though not without a price, I'm afraid..."
"I was very shocked, I was worried about my team and my brother and then being told everything."
Then he remembered the Lighthouse documentation. "The second coins- besides the Solars right?" He had been trying to pay as much attention to the documentation he had been given as possible. But it was a lot to take in at once. "I am Emmet. I am sorry you had to go through this too."
She nodded, first in sympathetic understanding, then in answer to his question. "Yes, that's exactly right."
And then came his apology. She blinked, momentarily surprised, before laughing.
"Oh, you're very kind to say such a thing, Mr. Emmet... But I assure you, there's no need for you to feel sorry for me. I am quite happy here." After all, that world they'd been stolen away from held nothing worth returning to. "I am terribly sorry about your brother, however... You are twins, yes? I wasn't much of a battler myself, but I do remember seeing pictures of you both."

"Tell me, are you... perhaps a trainer?"
